PM decides to increase child support for women who give birth to twins

KAMPONG SPEU: Starting in August 2023, women who give birth to twins will receive social assistance according to the number of children, as decided by Prime Minister Hun Sen on the morning of June 17 in his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Kampong Speu province.

He stated that he had just learned that the allowance for families with twins up to the age of two was the same as for those who gave birth to only one child. He then ordered the Minister of Social Affairs to increase the social support for twins to reflect the number of children.

He said, "The Prime Minister has decided that the allowance for new parents of children up to the age of two will be sponsored depending on the number of children. In general, the benefits for twins are more than one child.”
